*Here is the version 1.5 of the story I posted earlier. If you had old one,
*discard it and save this one instead. I changed names and scenes to correct
*the terminology in ST:TNG as well as GUNDAM.
Recently, I was very interested in those StarTrek stories involving
StarWars.
And then, I had this though. Hey, what if I write the story myself! The
story
is like this: the Enterprise is thrown into another dimension while
investigating abnormal phenomenon. In this universe, more than half of
mankind live in the space colonies -Side- around Earth and Luna (moon).
There
is a war between the TITANZ, Earth Federation special task force, and the
AEUG, anti-federation union, developing. And when the Enterprise arrived,
the
situation is becoming a full scale war. Throughout the story, there will be
many of terminology, especially in GUNDAM part you don't understand. Look
for
the 'Mobile Suit History part 1 & 2' and 'GUNDAM saga info' on the 'Aust
Sci-Fi' in the FidoNet or the 'rec.arts.anime' in the InterNet. If you
still
can't find it, send me a message.
When Star Trek: The Next Generation Meet Mobile Suit GUNDAM

Part One: Opening
Captain's log: Stardate 41779.5
The Enterprise has been dispatched to the Neutral Zone to investigate
an
unusual report of a nebulous cloud transversing the length of the
Neutral
Zone, first discovered by long range scanners. Starfleet Headquarters
wants the Enterprise to determine whether this phenomenon is a natural
one or not, and if not whether the Romulans are behind it.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard turned off the log switch and faced the main
viewer.
Between him and the viewer a golden coloured skin android officer was at
the
navigator and a female Bajoran ensign was at the helms. His klingon
security
chief was at the back of the bridge, as usual. On his right, his first
officer, and on his left ship's counselor were seated.
"Mr Data, what is our ETA to the Neutral Zone ?" An android officer at the
navigator turned around to answer, "Captain, at the current speed, it will
take 3 hours 43 minutes 31 seconds." Picard then leaned to his first
officer,
commander William T. Riker, to ask, "Tell me Number One, what do you think
about this strange cloud across the Neutral Zone ? Don't you think its
position is rather unique ?" Riker smirked as he answered his captain's
question. "Well, Captain, I'll say it's very unique. In fact, I have a
feeling Romulans behind this one, sir."
At Riker's comment, lieutenant commander Data stepped in. "Commander, I
must disagree with you, based on the information we have we cannot say
about
the nature of this phenomenon until we collect more data." Picard smiled at
Data's usual matter of fact style talking. Riker smiled as he explained,
"Data, I was just speaking my intuition. That's all." Data then frowned
little bit before he said, "Oh! intuition. The special kind of feeling
people..." "Not now, Mr Data." Picard snapped his second in commander.
"Sorry, Captain." Ensign Ro and counselor Troi tried hard not to laugh.
"Number One, I'll be in my ready room if you need me. You have the conn."
Picard walked to his ready room across the bridge thinking of the journal
he
was reading lately.
Captain Picard was enjoying his favorite tea while the Enterprise was
cruising at the warp 8.2 when the intercom sounded. "Riker to Captain."
"Yes,
Number One." "Captain, we're approaching the Neutral Zone." Picard replied
while walking toward the door. "I'm on my way. Picard out."
"Status, Mr Data." Picard called out as he stepped into the bridge.
"Captain,
we have arrived at the designated coordinates," said Data. After seated on
his commanding position, Picard replied. "Good, begin sensor scans of the
area." With few minutes of reading, "sensors have detected the cloud but
readings are unclear at this distance," reported Worf. "Ensign Ro, take us
in
for a closer look at quarter impulse." "Aye, aye Captain," responded a
female
Bajoran ensign at the helms.
The Enterprise approached the cloud. It appeared rather nebulous and dark,
and spaned several thousand cubic kilometers. Suddenly the Red Alert siren
sounded.
"Mister Data, report!" cried Picard. "Sensors detected another vessel
approaching the cloud from the other side of the Neutral Zone, scanners
indicate that the approaching ship is a Romulan Warbird." "Worf, open a
hailing frequency to the Warbird."
While Worf was attempting to hail the Romulan, the Warbird stopped on the
view screen, paused a moment and proceeded to enter the cloud. And suddenly
the Warbird was no longer in view.
"Hailing ignored, Romulan has entered the cloud and is no longer
registering
on my scanners, sir," reported Worf. "Ionized gases and metallic particles
of
the cloud prevent our sensors from scanning the interior of the cloud at
this
time." Data reported. "Your assessment Number One," Picard asked still
watching the cloud on the main viewer. "Can't see that we have much choice,
Captain. We're on our side of the Neutral Zone after all, and Starfleet did
order us to determine the nature of this phenomena. I say, go in after
them."
Picard replied at his first officer's comment as he did his famous Picard
maneuver, "a bold decision, one that I must agree with. Helm take us in,
maintain Red Alert. Worf, ready phasers and find me that Romulan." "Aye,
Sir," Worf replied with a grim grin.

At the right corner of the instrument panel two red dots indicated two
enemy
objects approaching. Laser sensors could be accurate on their own terms
even
with heavy Minovski interference, but as Lieutenant Ralv had often said,
until one confirmed something visually, it was not confirmed. That aside,
the
panel indicated something approaching at high speed.
On the bridge of the Agama, Operator Mark read the same signals and yelled
down from his boom chair at Bright. "Judging by the size, sir, one of them
looks like Marasai, but the other one's closing on us faster than I've ever
heard of !" "First one's speed matches a Marasai profile exactly, sir,"
chimed in Oscar, the other operator. "But the other one is not on our data
bank !" "Ready mega-beam cannons and missiles !" Lieutenant Commander
Bright
Noa screamed, at the same time glancing behind him at Lieutenant J.G. South
Burning.
Thinking he had heard the pilot say something, he went over to the wounded
man
strapped in his gurney. He bent over and heard a whisper. "If... if it's a
fast red suit... it's... it's the enemy's new... mobile suit. It's taken...
out my squadron.. along with Leardish. You've got to get the ship... out of
here, skipper !" Burning's face looked contorted, not from the pain of his
wounds but from fear. And he said it again, "get out... of... here..."
Out in space in the MSZ-006 Z-GUNDAM's cockpit, Ensign Kamiu saw a reddish
point of light wove through the stars toward him at high speed, and he felt
a
chill ran down his spine. For a second he thought he was looking at a real
red comet, but then his main monitor showed a close-up of a red mobile suit
he hadn't seen before. In it's head, behind a panel that looked like the
windshield of a helmet, a green-coloured mono-eye flashed. It was sighting
down the barrel of its beam rifle to him. Kamiu twisted the left and right
joypads at both side of his linear seat toward each other and felt the
sudden
g-force as the entire mobile suit spun sharply to the right. The enemy
fired,
and a beam from the rifle sliced through the darkness of space, leaving a
trail of long red light. But Kamiu knew that a single long line meant his
opponent had actually fired rapidly several shots.
